My 50mm 1.8f lens broke today - for some reason when taking it off the camera it imploded! I think the camera is okay but the lens is knackered.
Jedssops told me it was my fault and that I must have done it on purpose - twats
I'll never shop there again. I buy a large proportion of prints and accesories from Jessops and this just confirms their inept and casual attitude.

Was it new?

Is it the Canon one?

If so, then Canon will honour the waranty regadless of the supplier.

So what happened to the lens?

Got any pics of it?

And when you say "imploded" what happened? I wann know man, I gots ta know :-D

you should check teh interweb and see if anyone else had the same prob.

Or maybe it was just an "Incredible Hulk" moment and you crushed it?

yeah Canon will replace! Basically it was stuck on the camera and no amount of jiggery pokery or sneaking up on it would seperate it - now this seemed wierd because the one inanimate item that I take care with is my camera and I never wedge my lenses on any old how. However on removal it was jammed tight, and in removing the lens, the back cover/bit the camera marries up to cracked and splintered with one small hole created by the exploding bits! I would pop a photo on but I'm lazy
